Veggin’ Out With Christa began back in May of 2010 because I was searching for something I could create and stick to on a regular basis.  I had also been living the veg lifestyle for going on 10 years.  I became vegetarian back in 2001 and a full-fledged vegan in 2006 after getting off the cheese and fish rollercoaster.  Creating a blog centered around veganism made perfect sense to me.  I made a commitment to myself to write each day for the first year.

At first, I was nervous that I wouldn’t have enough information to fill up that many days, but I was very wrong (thank goodness).   I fell in love with writing and sharing the tremendous benefits of veganism.  I designed this blog to reach those who are curious about the lifestyle, and I do my best to demystify veganism and demonstrate how accessible and delicious it is.  My approach to this lifestyle has always been very open and non-judgmental in sharing with people.

As vegans we tend to get the same questions over and over like: “what about protein?” or “how can you give up cheese?”  I wanted to be able to answer these questions in the blog by providing research and information to answer these and the many other questions people have about veganism.  I also wanted to display an array of wonderful mouth-watering recipes to prove we are not relegated to only eating leaves and berries (no offense to those that choose that approach!).

I find that many people are more scared of veganism based on myths, so I wanted my blog to be a safe and fun place to gather information in order to make an educated choice about the vegan lifestyle.  So, here I am almost two years later going strong with Veggin’ and I couldn’t be more proud.   In addition to information, recipes and my own experiences, I have been fortunate enough to do interviews with the likes of the Dynise Balcalvage of the Urban Vegan, Doron Petersan of Sticky Fingers Bakery and Vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke to name a few.  I’ve also featured the stories of fellow vegan bloggers as well, so there is definitely something for those already living the veg lifestyle also!  There are more exciting things on the horizon for ‘my little blog that could,’ and I invite you to come veg out with me!

Christa blogs daily at vegginoutwithchrista.blogspot.com and is also a weekly contributor for Good Veg.  She is a top health blogger for wellsphere.com and available for speaking engagements on the topic of veganism. She is also launching her health coaching business for those looking to transition into the vegan lifestyle.  You can also keep up with her on Twitter and her Facebook page!
