Top 5 Vegan Marketing Tips

November 30th, 2009 by Harleena Singh · Business Ideas, Marketing & Social Media

Being vegan goes beyond what you eat, it is a philosophy of life, a way of living that seeks to exclude all forms of exploitation and cruelty to animals for food, clothing or any other purpose. Thus, whether you are designing a simple flier or developing a business marketing plan for a strategic vegan partnership, you can increase your chances for success by following these five vegan marketing tips.

Develop your vegan marketing for your clients, not yourself

You need to cater to your potential clients, rather than what might look good to you. You can do this by asking your friends or associates for feedback when they are members of your target market.

Define the target market

You need to understand and choose the customers you want to serve.  Define the target vegan market carefully through segmentation, and then position yourself as different and as superior to that target market.

Give answers to questions

Allow for answers to critical vegan marketing questions like, what is this about, by checking if your materials communicate clearly what you offer and who it is for, and what next step you would ask them to take. Do not think about what is in it for me; instead think of what the clients will receive and how they will benefit from it. To establish credibility with your audience, include your photo, contact information, present case studies, statistics, and testimonies from satisfied clients.

Follow the A.I.D.A. format

Attention- by using powerful headlines that grab attention, be direct and to the point.

Interest- by using subtitles, short stories, question to communicate and illustrate how well you understand their needs.

Desire- and emotions should be generated through vegan marketing by showing your audience how a solution is available and achievable to them through doing business with you. Offer guarantees and a powerful performance promise.

Action- by making your offer so incredible and irresistible those clients cannot refuse. You can give them a compelling reason to take action.

Develop a system and follow up

Plan your follow-up steps, use a combination of mail, telephone, emails and personal visits as your follow up strategy and ensure you do not give up just after one or two follow up contacts.

Most vegan professional and entrepreneurs waste their time and money by practicing ‘hit and miss’ vegan marketing systems or try a strategy and abandon it before it has a chance to produce any results. You should find a promotional strategy that works for you and build a system around it so that you can implement it consistently and repeatedly.
