Winter is looming and it feels like summer has been so quick to leave us. But don’t be down! Winter is yet another opportunity to go shopping!! And not because we want to – because we have to, to buy practical winter wear. But practical doesn’t have to mean boring, or ugly. The item that the winter season is all about is boots, so let’s get started!
I start my boot shopping early, to get an idea of what I want, what’s practical, and to get the best selection before more popular styles start going out of stock. Good, versatile boots can get you through the whole winter. You can wear them in bad weather, for work or even when you dress up. Here are some tips for picking great vegan boots for winter 2011/12!
I do not recommend ‘ugg’-style boots, vegan counterparts to Uggs, as they do not work in all the above mentioned situations, which I believe a truly fabulous pair of boots should. There is a safe option that will do all these things and look fresh and fashionable year after year, and that is a riding-style boot. I cannot think of any winter where companies do not produce riding-style boots, they are a timeless style. Another style that comes in and out of fashion so often that they are a wardrobe staple (and great if you like a grungier or more cutting-edge look) is biker boots. They are so practical, you can wear them when there is snow and ice, they look good with jeans, or beautiful with a dress.
