Maria Giurcan is a Software QA Engineer who is also an avid world traveler and a longtime vegan. She blogs about vegan dining and sightseeing during her domestic and international travels at http://www.veganworldtrekker.com/. When she is not traveling, she shares helpful travel tips for her vegan blog readers. Maria recently self-published her book “How To Travel The World As A Vegan” available on amazon.com. The book shares informative and helpful travel tips for vegetarians and vegans, in addition to discussing the vegan scene in countries that are popular travel destinations.
After having visited five continents and numerous states in the USA, I wanted to share my travel experiences as a vegan, to help other vegans. Traveling as a vegan is not as difficult as one may think. Vegetarian and vegan travelers can readily find veggie-friendly bed and breakfast inns, vegan travelsize skincare products, and even tours that cater to them!
My book, “How To Travel The World As A Vegan” covers these topics in details. The book is divided into two sections, each consisting of multiple chapters. Section one discusses travel tips and trip pre-planning while section two discusses the vegan dining scene in the most popular travel destinations in each continent.
In the first section, topics covered include veggie-friendly accommodations, veggie-friendly tours, vegan coupon sites, vegan mobile apps for dining and apparel, questions to ask restaurant waitstaff, how to translate and communicate your dining requirements, how to search for vegan restaurants/bakeries/ice cream shops/and health stores, what to expect on trains/cruises/hotels, ski resorts, camping for vegans, highway rest stops, vegan travel gear, vegan travel snacks, and vegan travel apparel and skincare products.
In the book’s second section, topics include vegan meals, desserts, local fruits, and local beverages that can be found in the various countries across the globe. Some up-and-coming travel destinations are also mentioned, as is the vegan dining scene there. Each meal of the day is discussed including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and vegan snacks at each of the
listed countries in each continent.
After reading “How To Travel The World As A Vegan”, readers will realize just how easy it is to travel as a vegan, even in some unexpected and remote locations. For example, my trips to the remote Patagonia region of Argentina resulted in some wonderful vegan meals, as did safari country in South Africa! The book really is a “One-Stop Shop” for anything and everything a vegetarian or vegan could possibly need to prepare for their vacation and experience during their travels!
