Vegan Blogs

A Sweet Vegan Blog: Sugar Coated Vegan

My name is Alexis Diaz and I run the vegan food blog Sugar Coated Vegan (you can find my blog at www.sugarcoatedvegan.tumblr.com). I veganize all different kinds of sweets and sometimes include, raw, gluten free and the occasional dish. I plan to start a new feature on my blog that includes veganizing a dish from every part of the world because I feel that other food cultures, spices and dishes should be explored more – and what better way to immerse yourself in a culture and learn about it than to try out their foods?!

Vegan Blog Features: Momma’s Little Green Book

A long journey led me from the lush East Coast to the sunny desert of Phoenix, Arizona. New to the area, I was unfamiliar with the goings-on, particularly regarding “greener” options for my family. Thus began the Momma’s Little Green Book project – a site that not only connects earth-friendly mommas and poppas but also provides green options for families in the greater Phoenix area and beyond

Veganville’s Virility Takes Veganism to Mainstream America

Talk about vegan going mainstream! How much more American mainstream does it get than Saturday Night Live? This past weekend we were DELIGHTED to see Justin Timberlake don a block of tofu and send out a far-reaching plug for veganism as part of his “ville” series – this one being Veganville

The Impact of Thinking YES (and a recipe for Steel Cut Oats with Mushrooms and Walnuts – YUM!)

It’s not news that adopting a plant-based style of eating offers a bevy of health rewards. Plant-based eaters generally have reduced cardiovascular risk, lower body mass index, and lower total mortality. But, plant-based eating is not just good for you, it’s also good for Mother Earth

Main Street Vegan Academy: Now Taking Registrations for 2013!

Here’s how MSVA works: You come to New York City. The first response to that information is often, “Gulp!” But I look at it this way: The vision for Main Street Vegan Academy is to offer not only top-notch information, but also a life-altering experience, an experience that calls for bringing your body as well as your intellect along. New York is Disneyland for vegans

The Beginnings of a Vegan Food Swap – A Love Letter

I’ve always loved mail and sharing cool things I’ve found with other people, it’s probably why I started blogging in the first place. In early 2012 I stumbled upon a foodie pen pal swap on the Lean Green Bean’s Blog, and signed up.

After participating for a few months and really enjoying it, I was still occasionally getting some non-vegan items in the swap and it got me thinking about how fun it could be to swap with people that were already vegan or already got that part of my life without a lot of explanation.

Under My Skin: Sell-Out Celebrities

It was announced only weeks ago that Beyoncé had signed a $50 million ‘Creativity Partnership’ contract with Pepsi. Which is basically media relations jargon for an endorsement deal with collaborations on additional projects. Most of us will raise an eyebrow at the $50 million check as completely ridiculous, but the point is that Pepsi feels the money it is spending will be nothing compared to the sales this partnership will bring in. Beyoncé has a huge fan base, a large majority of them being young and easily influenced
