Creating a good business team is essential for your business to be successful. If one person is not pulling their weight or doing their job right, it can affect the attitude of your other employees as well as your profit. When you’re building a good business team, you will want to look for certain characteristics and maybe one of them might be vegan.

ABCs of a Good Business Team

What do you consider to be a good business team? First, you will want to figure out how many employees you need. Maybe you need a PR Manager, Customer Service Representative, Door Greeter, etc. Once you know the roles you need filled, you can narrow down the type of people for the job.

For example, if you’re looking for someone to be the PR Manager, you might have the following characteristics on the top of your list: people person, creative and experienced with communication and design skills. Once you find someone who meets these requirements, you can determine if they’re a right fit for the work environment.

Reaching the Same Goal

Once you find your team, it will take training and positive reinforcement to make them good. Start weekly meetings to make sure everyone knows what is expected from them and find out how they feel in their position. By working out issues ahead of time, you reduce conflicts at work.

Another order of business you should touch on is the mission of your business and why it’s important to work together. All of your team members should be on the same page…do they feel like they’re important to the business? They also need to feel like they have a support group around them. The weekly or monthly meetings can help focus the team and resolve problems.

Non-Vegan vs. Vegan Team Member

A good business works together like members of a team, and if any employee doesn’t feel comfortable with the mission of the business, it’s time to show them the door. You need people who will work with you and not against you, because customers will detect the tension or confusion and go to the next best place. Many vegans were non-vegan at one time,  therefore we recommend  giving non-vegans a chance to join the team. Remember that we all benefit from a diverse mix of employees and customers.

Building a quality and functional team is a challenge and don’t get discouraged if the first batch of employees doesn’t work out.
